DING 2021: "He was born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ir. He studied at Trinity College, Dublin and Exeter College, Oxford. In 1841 he was living at Kilmarth, Tywardreath, Co.; in 1871 at Westminster and from then on at Berkeley, Glo., where he died. He was Curate of Saint Mellion, Co. between 1859 and 1870; and then of Berkeley, Glo., between 1870 and 1884 when he was appointed Vicar (a position he filled until his death). He was also Honorary Canon of Gloucester. He is the author of a series of religious novels and short stories. Some take place in Cornwall but he does not attempt to represent its dialect. "
