DING 2012: “He was a printer and a bookseller. According to documents deposited at the Lincolnshire archives (BROG/1/5/1/7 5 Nov 1856), John Ellett Brogden owned a printing press. Since 1859 he is recorded as editor of The Lincoln Gazette, which he published until 1870 with his father, Thomas John Nathaniel Brogden (a teacher, auctioneer, bookseller and printer who was very much involved in local politics serving twice as Lincoln’s Mayor).”
