DING 2012: “He was born at Compton Beauchamp, Brk. He attende the college school, at Gloucester, and in 1800 went to Oxford. He was a polyglot and could play several instruments. He taught Classics and History in the Royal Military College, Buck. and in Sandhurst and Britwell. From 1829 to his death he resided at Market Bosworth, Lei. His Leicestershire Words Phrases and Proverbs (1848) was edited and enlarged by his son Sebastian in 1881.”
