CORNWALL

DING 2013: "Born in Falmouth, Co., he first ran a bookshop and then became a landscape painter, travelling through Scandinavia and Russia. He became an expert in oriental languages. He finally settled in Bristol where he devoted himself to literature, especially poetry. He wrote two Cornish dialogues in 1787 and 1798 which where later re-edited with variations. The first one by Rev. Richard Polwhele and John Ayrton Paris and the second one just by Rev. Polwhele.”
